Our aim is to provide the best possible movement experience for our clients and allow them to realise their body's full potential through exercise modalities that teach the body to experience functional strength, flexibility, space & elongation and freedom of movement. Through applying these modalities you will learn to decompress, realign, rebalance and rehabilitate your body so you can move through your day pain free and live your life to its fullest.

Founded in 2012, Studio Nine Pilates is a fully equipped boutique style studio located on the edge of Seddon Village at 9 Gamon Street. The studio offers studio Pilates Sessions, The GYROKINESIS® Method classes, Qi Gong, Dance Conditioning, Athletic Performance Enhancement and Clinical Sports Massage.

THE PILATES METHOD
Created by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, The Pilates Method is a mind/body conditioning system. Originally called 'Contrology', Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise consisting of mat work and a range of specialised equipment to help bring about postural alignment, mobility, stability, strength, flexibility and long lean muscle tone.
Pilates can be practiced by anyone regardless of age or ability.

We specialise in rehabilitation , injury prevention, pre and post natal as well as whole body workouts utilising all the specialised Pilates equipment such as
the Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair,
Ped-a-Pul, Electric Chair, Barrels and Arcs as well as small apparatus like the Magic Circle, Wobble Board, Rotational
Dics and Foot Corrector.
SHAOLIN QI GONG
Shaolin Qi Gong is an ancient martial art form practiced by the Shoalin Monks.
Qi Gong (pronounced Chee Gung) is also known as Chinese Yoga or Niegong (internal exercise) which is like a Chinese version of Pilates.
Its definition is an internal meditation method using moving and standing exercises practiced to promote the movement of vital energy throughout the body.
Qi Gong increases internal cleansing & healing and has been known to assist many aliments and improve ones health.
The benefits of practicing Qi Gong are many and include boosting your health and vitality, improving the function of the nervous system, clearing negative emotions & reducing anxiety, promotes deeper relaxation & better sleep, strengthens and limbers the body, increases flexibility & mobility and improves mental focus.
THE GYROKINESIS® METHOD
The GYROKINESIS® Method is a movement method that addresses the entire body, openings the energy pathways, stimulating the nervous system, increasing range of motion and creating functional strength through rhythmic, flowing movement sequences. It is an original and unique method which co-ordinates movement, breath and mental focus.
The Gyrokinesis Method is practiced on a chair, mat and standing without equipment, allowing the joints to move through natural range of motion without jarring or compression. These carefully crafted sequences create balance, agility, strength and flexibility giving a sense of spaciousness, freedom and energy in the body.
DANCE CONDITIONING AND ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT
Dancers and Elite Athletes require specific training to maximise and enhance their performance. The application of correct technique, muscle recruitment, stability, strength, flexibility and artistry are crucial for the developement dancers, particularly if their bodies are still growing. Our dance conditioning programs, although strongly classically based are suitable and beneficial to all dancers no matter which dance genre they specialise in, classical ballet, contemporary dance or musical theatre.
We assist dancers to develop a deep understanding of how to access correct muscle and movement recruitment to bring about a pure and sure technique, form and function, stability, strength, flexibility and placement. This understanding helps to rehabilitate existing injuries and eliminates reoccurrence.
CLINICAL SPORTS MASSAGE
Clinical Sport Massage uses specific techniques such as cross-fibre massage and trigger point therapy to treat the soft tissue, aches, pain, tension and specific injuries or conditions relating to the muscular skeletal system. It can minimise muscle stiffness and tension, improve the muscle function, promote relaxation and improve muscle tone. It aids in better recovery by raising blood circulation to the affected area and increase endurance and improve performance.
